One Million Dollar Horseshoe

This beautiful example of mid-century modern desig This beautiful example of mid-century modern design resided in Saratoga, CA for 31 years. Designed by Bay Area architect John Savage Bolles, the Paul Masson Champagne Cellars opened in 1959. Bolles was best known for designing Candlestick Park, former home of the San Francisco Giants.

The entrance to the cellars featured a reception rotunda, pool, and a striking metal sculpture called the Effervescence of Champagne. Created by famed sculptor Gurdon Woods, it symbolized the dancing bubbles associated with champagne.
